BIG GAME FISH questions?

The lake im going to for 2 weeks is clear i cab see like 9 feet down and it have mild weed cover like 1 to 3 feet tall and some places like 10 ft weeds and sandbars and rocks and i just bought a standard black spinnerbait with double blades yamamoto senkos and a grey rapala husky jerk bait. i looked up techniques but does it matter i have a 20 dollar shakespeare pole with a standard 8 pound line? any tips wiuld be appreciated
